The Munich Heart Alliance (MHA) is a regional network of the major public research organizations in Munich who coordinate their activities and join forces to develop and translate strategies for prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease (CVD). This interdisciplinary research alliance focuses upon the translation of scientific findings from fundamental research into clinical application. It also supports the German Center for Cardiovascular Research, which was founded in 2011 as one of the six German Centers for Health Research within the health research initiative of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF).
The mission of the MHA is to improve the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of cardiovascular diseases. It is our commitment to augment interinstitutional collaboration, to foster large, integrated research efforts, to assist in the strategic recruitment of cardiovascular researchers to the Munich research area, and to foster junior researchers.
